“Pounding Nails in the Floor with My Forehead” is a daring monodrama based on the monologues of an American playwright, declared a provocateur, an offender and scandaliser, but also the conscience of America. Bogosian's characters - from a tramp to a cynical businessman and a greedy doctor- are a bird's-eye view of today's consumer society, subjected to virulent satire. Eric Bogosian is of Armenian descent and lives in New York. An author and presenter of shocking satirical monologues in which he portrays his contemporaries. A master of transformation. A scandaliser and provocateur. He not only writes monodramas, but also full-cast plays (Talk Radio1987, sub Urbia 1994, Griller 1996, amongst others). A laureate of three Obie Awards for the following monodramas: Drinking in America, Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll and Pounding Nails in the Floor with My Forehead. Laureate of the “Silver Bear Award” at the Berlin Film Festival (1989) for Oliver Stone's Talk Radio. He also received a “Drama Desk Award”. As an actor he has appeared in a dozen or so films such as Talk Radio, Caine Mutiny Court Martial (directed by Robert Altman), Deconstructing Harry (directed by Woody Allen) amongst others. In 1986 he worked with Frank Zappa on the album Blood on the Canvas. He was the creative consultant of Steven Spielberg's TV series High Incident.
