Sensacja z Montrealu po raz drugi w Warszawie: agresywny, nowoczesny acid house z punkowymi wokalami. Duet swoimi niesamowitymi występami na żywo jeszcze na długo przed wydaniem pierwszego materiału zdobył serca zarówno sceny elektronicznej, jak i gitarowo-noisowej. Korzenie Pelady to industrialne przestrzenie nielegalnych klubów afterhours. Dzielili scenę z niezliczonymi DJ-ami, eksperymentalnymi artystami dzwiękowymi, punkowymi zespołami, czy bardziej rozpoznawalnymi wykonawcami jak Pharmakon czy Helm. Debiutancką EP wyprodukował Pierre Guerineau z Essaie Pas (DFA), a remiks jednego z utworów przygotował Jock Club (Ascetic House). Ich pierwsza EP-ka ukazała się nakładem MIND Records (Elon Katz, Femminielli, Umberto, Bataille Solaire). Obecnie pracują nad debiutanckim albumem.

PELADA

Rising stars of the Montreal electronic scene, Pelada have resonated with audiences for their unique blend of early Chicago house, Detroit techno and inspired dance music with fierce Spanish vocals - dubbed by some as “acid punk”. The duo, comprised of vocalist Chris Vargas and producer Tobias Rochman, create a sound combining a patchwork of sequenced analogue synths, drum machines, voice and samplers that is both urgent and powerful. As a result, their live sets are living and breathing entities, energetic and combative.

Pelada grew out of the city’s infamous underground afterhours warehouse scene, performing alongside DJs, punk groups, and live experimental electronic acts. These large parties are often illegal, populated by an eclectic mix of punks, club kids, ravers and freaks, promoting a spirit of inclusiveness and open-mindedness. Pelada embraces this diverse crowd united by a shared interest in letting loose, unsatisfied by what is being offered in mainstream clubs.

After more than a year of performing live, including a short tour with Pharmakon (Sacred Bones), Pelada dropped their first EP ‘No Hay / Ten Cuidado’ on January 1st, 2016. The material was produced by Pierre Guerineau of Essaie Pas (DFA) and released by Rochman’s record label 'New', accompanied by a remix from Jock Club (Ascetic House). The international underground electronic music community immediately embraced the tracks, which soon became a fixture of late night DJ sets around the world. The singles combined (which were released with no promotion whatsoever) have received more than 23,000 plays on Soundcloud to date after being picked up by Thump, Club Fonograma, other media outlets and by word of mouth.

Following up on the momentum of their digital singles the group flew to Europe and embarked on a 3-weeks-long tour comprising of 23 shows. The band played for audiences in Germany, Poland, Czech Republic (Creepee Teepee Festival), The Netherlands, Brussels, Belgium, France (headlining Garage MU Festival in Paris), Spain and Switzerland. 

After the tour Pelada reunited with Pierre Guerineau (his dossier includes work with Marie Davidson, Essaie Pas, Dirty Beaches et al) in the studio to begin recording their first full length album. In the meantime, their self-released digital singles have now been properly re-issued in a physical format by MIND Records in Paris (Bernardinio Femminielli, Night Musik, Bataille Solaire). Before they hit the shelves, they were already sold-out through online sales.

Pelada is now returning to Europe in February 2017 for their second tour, playing new cities and countries to connect with new audiences for their music.
